The Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras are educational components of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (CSO). The orchestras offer students in the greater Charlotte area a unique performing experience, in which talented young musicians obtain musical training in a semi-professional ensemble setting.

The Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra is open to students in grades 8 through 12, although exceptions will be made for very advanced younger students to be members. The Youth Orchestra rehearses on Monday evenings from 5:30 to 8:00pm from late August to early May. The group performs an average of six concerts per year. All members are required to attend a residential summer camp during the first week of August. A limited number of merit and financial scholarships for private study are awarded each year by the Symphony Guild of Charlotte, Inc. The annual tuition is $475.
